Update
Hi Everyone.
Sorry for late update as I have been busy in setting up a new company and has very little time to update whatever that is needed to be updated. Previous few times, it took me at least about 3-4 hours to gather all the information, just to update BBAXN and this blog. I planned to do this tomorrow hence please bear with the lack of info. Appreciates.
BTW, for this upcoming match against MaraStark, it will start at 5.00 pm hence everyone needs to be at 7-Eleven by 2.30 pm. Before, I always make it 3 hours before match time. However, it takes the team approximately 1 hr 20 mins to reach ACS court thus I give a little more time. Hopefully we wouldn't be late. However, all players are advised to have an early lunch (11 am) to avoid stomach upset, as well as plenty of fluid. Those that are not feeling well, please inform Jason by Friday Night (BEFORE 10 PM) so that he could settle the official 12 players.
Against MaraStark, we must be careful of their Ang Moh Center (Lott) as he has performed exceptionally well in their previous match against Pasaway. Definately we need to play more box-out, without drawing unnecessary fouls.
For this 5th match, Jason has volunteer to "watch the match" and will act as a coach. Hence, the Captain role will be given to Guo Hui. Please take note that in whatever sports, COACH MAKES THE FINAL DECISION ON THE COURT. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO OVERRULE HIM, OR I WILL BAN THE PLAYER FOR NEXT MATCH. As Jason will be trying new tactics, listen to him and play accordingly. In the future, one of the 3 players (Jason, Guo Hui & Ah Hao) will need rotate to "watch the match" WITH NO GAME PARTICIPATION.
Personally, I will also look out for players that do not put in 100% commitment into their play - e.g. no effort in running back to defense, finding offensive space, soloist, etc. I will also look into the performance scoreboard which Cheng Khai is keeping track, to see players that have not perform well - e.g. low percentage scoring, low contribution in rebounds/steals, etc (but case-to-case basis). In regardless of whoever the person is, even if Jason, Guo Hui or Ah Hao, if performance has been consistently bad...
I have a few incoming players who have signaled their interests to play for us - i.e. Weide, Cheng Khai, Bing Shu, Jian Hong, etc. So work hard to keep your place. If you think you're unable to commit or cannot take the pressure, keep me informed so that I could give the space to someone else.
Last but not least, my overall comments for previous match is extremely negative hence I keep the comments to myself. For those believe that he or the team has perform well, don't kid yourself. Bad is bad. Good is good.
If you look at the match report, the junior team (JJ, A&W, ZX, JW and BP) has scored 16 points for their quarter (with Guan & Guo Hui). The first 3 quarters, we have scored 18, 16 and 16 points respectively. Defensively, we lost 29, 27, 26 and 23 points respectively. If we tally, we have:
1st Q: - 11 pts (minus 11 pts)
2nd Q: - 11 pts
3rd Q: - 10 pts
4th Q: - 7 pts
While we can perceive that the opponents & referee may give chance to our junior team, their scoring abilities is on par with the senior team and due to their "small" defensive abilities, they didn't draw too much fouls. Kudos to all the junior players.
Anyway, I'm happy that Jerome Pang & Derrick are likely to play this week (two of my previous MVPs). However, I hope that additional one or two of the big guys would volunteer to focus on being a GUARD/CENTER (AND WILLING IN TRAINING TO BE A GOOD DEFENDER - Rebound/Block). We are really lousy at the back.
PS: ALL PLAYERS ARE NOT SUPPOSE TO SIT ON BENCHES. BENCHES WILL BE STRICTLY FOR NON-PLAYERS, INCLUDING SUPPORTERS (WITH PRIORITY TO LADIES), NON-PLAYING COACH AND MANAGER (Myself).
PLAYERS SHOULD SIT TOGETHER, FOCUSING ON THE MATCH ALONE. FOR EXAMPLE - BENCH ON CENTER - PLAYERS SIT ON ONE SIDE, SUPPORTERS (IF NO MORE BENCH SPACE) SIT ON OTHER SIDE.
NONETHELESS, AS APPRECIATION TOWARDS THE SUPPORTERS UNDERSTANDING & KINDNESS, I WILL PERSONALLY SPONSOR DRINKS. PLEASE KEEP ME INFORMED WHO IS COMING AS SUPPORTERS.
That's all for today. I spent nearly 1 hour to type this and it's nearly 6 am. Good Nite.
